Melanesian law ministers will present joint regional priorities at the upcoming Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting in Fiji from 9–12 February.
Clezy Rore confirmed that, as chair of the Melanesian Spearhead Group, Fiji will present on behalf of Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu. The presentation will be delivered by Siromi Turaga.
Held under the theme “Anchoring Justice in a Changing Tide,” the meeting will focus on access to justice, legal reform, technology in justice systems, natural resource governance, and protection of fundamental rights.
Outcomes will guide the work of the Commonwealth Secretariat and inform the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda. Preparatory meetings were held in October 2025 and will continue in Fiji in February 2026.
