The Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea (SCPNG) is proud to announce the launch of its Investment Scam Alert Reporting Form, an innovative online tool designed to empower the public to report suspicious investment schemes and scams. This initiative represents a significant step in SCPNG’s ongoing commitment to protect investors and ensure the integrity of the country’s financial markets.

Mr. James Joshua, Acting Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of this initiative in safeguarding the interests of the investing public:

“The rise in fraudulent investment schemes poses a serious threat to the financial security of our citizens and the integrity of our markets. The launch of the Investment Scam Alert Reporting Form reflects our proactive approach to combating these risks. By equipping the public with a simple and accessible way to report suspicious activities, we aim to enhance investor protection, promote transparency, and foster a safer investment environment.”

The form, available on SCPNG’s official website, allows individuals to report suspicious investment schemes confidentially. This data will enable SCPNG to identify emerging threats, take swift regulatory action, and provide timely warnings to the public.

The launch of the form is part of SCPNG’s broader “Know Your Market, Protect Your Investment” program, aimed at increasing public awareness and education about investment risks. Initial outreach efforts, including a successful social media campaign on Facebook and LinkedIn, have already garnered significant engagement and underscored the urgent need for tools like this.

“We encourage everyone to use this platform and join us in the fight against investment scams,” added Mr. Joshua. “Together, we can protect our communities and strengthen confidence in Papua New Guinea’s capital markets.”

Through initiatives like the Investment Scam Alert Reporting Form, SCPNG remains committed to fostering a transparent, fair, and secure investment environment.

How to Access the Form

The Investment Scam Alert Reporting Form can be accessed through the SCPNG website https://www.scpng.gov.pg. Users can submit reports on schemes that exhibit red flags, such as guaranteed high returns, pressure to invest quickly, or unlicensed operators.
